In 1986, on The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant was the site of the world´s worst nuclear disaster. Soviet authorities established an ´Exclusion Zone´ around the site, but a second explosion rocked the reactor in 2006, creating the Zone we know today - a dangerous, radioactive place filled with strange, anomalous energy that has become home to mutated creatures. The Zone is surrounded by soldiers who are prepared to shoot to kill anyone foolish enough to enter.
The year is 2012. The Zone is still a dangerous place, posing a threat to all of humanity. Mercenaries, bounty hunters, and explorers push deeper into the heart of the Zone, hoping to acquire strange ´artifacts´ filled with anomalous energy to sell on the black market or to try to find the ´truth´ that lies within the Zone. Whatever their original motivation, these people became known as stalkers – from S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which stands for Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers and Robbers.
